Setup IMAP using Apple Mail 7.x

To setup your Apple Mail 7.x (for OS X 10.9 - Mavericks) Desktop Client, please follow these instructions:
  • Open Mail
  • From the Mail menu, choose Preferences....
  • Click on the Accounts tab.
  • At the bottom, click the plus (+) button to add a new account.
  • Select Add Other Mail Account... and press the Continue button.
  • Enter your Full NameEmail Address and Password in their appropriate fields and press the Create button.
  • Select IMAP as the Account Type.
  • Enter mail.atlantisnet.com as the Mail Server.
  • Enter your Email Address in the User Name field.
  • Enter your Password.
  • Press the Next button.
  • Enter mail.atlantisnet.com as the SMTP Server.
  • Enter your Email Address in the User Name field.
  • Enter your Password in the Password field.
  • Press the Create button.
  • Select the account you just created in the account listing.
  • Click on the Advanced tab.
  • Change IMAP Port to 993.
  • Check the box next to Use SSL.
  • Select Password as the Authentication type.
  • Now we need to tell Mail how to send your e-mail.
  • The next few steps are very important.  If you are unable to send email then please check that you have done everything in this section:
    • Click on the Account Information tab.
    • Select Edit SMTP Server List... from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): drop down selection.
    • Select the mail.atlantisnet.com server listed.
    • Click on the Advanced tab.
    • Select Use default ports (25, 465, 587).
    • Check the box next to Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
    • Select Password as the Authentication type.
    • Your User Name and Password should already be entered.  If not, enter them.
    • Click the OK button.
  • Close the Accounts window.
