Import Gmail Contacts into SmarterMail

There are actually two ways to import Gmail contacts into the SmarterMail webmail system.
 
Option #1 - Importing of vCard or Outlook .CSV files:
  1. Export your contacts from Gmail following the instructions at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/24911?hl=en.  You may select either vCard or Outlook .CSV format. (vCards are usually easier but Outlook .CSV files will give you more options)
  2. Log into SmarterMail at http://mail.atlantisnet.com.
  3. Click on the Contacts icon.
  4. Click the Actions menu in the navigation pane toolbar.
  5. Then click Import/Export and click Import.
  6. Click Choose File to find the file you wish to upload and click Next.
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions if the system finds any conflicts.
Option #2 - Using Mailbox Migration:
  1. Log into SmarterMail at http://mail.atlantisnet.com.
  2. Click on the Settings icon.
  3. Expand the My Settings and Advanced Settings folders in the navigation pane.
  4. Click Mailbox Migration.
  5. Select Gmail as the Account Type.
  6. Select if you want to delete all your existing SmarterMail mailbox items. (normally you would not check this box)
  7. Click Next.
  8. Check the checkbox next to Contacts.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Enter your Gmail email address into the Username field and your Gmail password into the Password field.
  11. To verify you entered the correct information, click on the Test Connection button.
  12. After your account has been verified click Next.
  13. Click Start.
  14. Follow the onscreen instructions.
