How to Share your Calendar

Sharing calendars requires that the sharers user’s account (USER A) have Exchange ActiveSync enabled. Also, the sharer's calendar must already be synched using Exchange ActiveSync with all appointments stored on the AtlantisNet SmarterMail server. Note, your email mailbox must be properly setup on our servers before you can use Exchange ActiveSync. ActiveSync is an ADD-ON for AtlantisNet customers as we must pay annual licensing fees to Microsoft.

The user (USER A) that wishes to share their calendar with others needs to:

  1. Login to the webmail system at https://mail.atlantisnet.com.
  2. Click the Settings icon (gears) in the left column navigation.
  3. Under My Settings, Open the Sharing tree and click on Shared Resources.
  4. Click the New button.
  5. Select My Calendar and press the Next button.
  6. Select the User(s) they want to share their calendar with, the type of Access they want to grant the user(s) and click the Save button.
  7. Logout of the webmail system.

The user (USER B) that will be accessing the shared calendar needs to:

  1. Login to the webmail system at https://mail.atlantisnet.com.
  2. Click the Settings icon (gears) in the left column navigation.
  3. Under My Settings, Open the Sharing tree and click on Mapped Resources.
  4. The shared calendar (from USER A) should be listed with a Status of Attached. If the Status shows as Detached then select the calendar and press the Attach button, alter the Friendly Name if necessary and click on the Save button.
  5. At this point the sharer's calendar (USER A) is now visible to USER B when USER B clicks on Calendar with the webmail system.
  6. If the user (USER B) wants this shared calendar to show up within Outlook then they need to follow these additional steps (these steps must be executed on the computer which has Outlook installed):
    1. If not already logged into the webmail system, please do so by visiting https://mail.atlantisnet.com.
    2. Click the Calendar icon in the left column navigation.
    3. Click the Actions button and select Add to Outlook.
    4. Select the appropriate calendar from USER A and click on the OK button.
    5. A dialog box will open asking for permission to open Outlook. Press the Open Outlook button.
    6. A dialog box will open asking if you would like to connect this SharePoint Calendar to Outlook. Press the Yes button.
    7. At this point the sharer's calendar (USER A) is now visible to USER B when USER B opens Outlook on their computer.
  7. Logout of the webmail system.
