Setup IMAP using Microsoft Outlook 2016

To setup your Outlook 2016 Desktop Client, please follow these instructions:
  • Open Microsoft Outlook 2016
  • Click on the File menu and click the button titled + Add Account.
  • Enter your full email address in the text box (IE: username@yourdomain.com).
  • Click on the Connect button.
  • Enter your password in the text box.
  • Click on the Connect button.
  • Click on the OK button.
 
If the above instructions do not work please try the following:
 
  • Open Microsoft Outlook 2016.
  • Click on the File menu and click the button titled + Add Account button.
  • Enter your full email address in the text box (IE: username@yourdomain.com).
  • Click on the Advanced options link.
  • Check Let me set up my account manually.
  • Click on the Connect button.
  • Click the IMAP icon.
  • Enter mail.atlantisnet.com as the Incoming mail Server.
  • Enter 143 for Port.
  • Select None for Encryption method.
  • Leave Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) unchecked.
  • Enter mail.atlantisnet.com as the Outgoing mail Server.
  • Enter 587 for Port.
  • Select None for Encryption method.
  • Leave Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) unchecked.
  • Click on the Next button.
  • Enter your password in the text box.
  • Click on the Connect button.
  • Click on the Done button after setup is complete.
 
Here is another method to setup your IMAP account for using in Outlook 2016:
 
  • Close Microsoft Outlook 2016.
  • In the search box, enter Control Panel and then click on it in the displayed results.
  • Click on Mail (Microsoft Outlook 2016) (32-bit).
  • Click on the Email Accounts… button.
  • Click on the New… button.
  • Select Manual setup or additional server types.
  • Click the Next > button.
  • Select POP or IMAP.
  • Click the Next > button.
  • Enter Your Name.
  • Enter your Email Address.
  • Change Account Type to IMAP.
  • Enter mail.atlantisnet.com as the Incoming mail server.
  • Enter mail.atlantisnet.com as the Outgoing mail server.
  • Enter your email address for User Name.
  • Enter your Password.
  • Leave Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) unchecked.
  • Click on the More Settings… button.
  • Click on the Outgoing Server tab.
  • Select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
  • Click on the Advanced tab.
  • Change Incoming server (IMAP) port to 993.
  • Change Use the following type of encryption connection to SSL/TLS.
  • Change Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587.
  • Change Use the following type of encryption connection to SSL/TLS.
  • Click the OK button.
  • Click the Next > button.
  • Outlook will test your settings. Once complete press the Close button (to close the Test Account Settings window).
  • Click the Finish button (to close the Add Account window).
  • Click the Close button (to close the Account Settings window).
  • Click the Close button (to close the Mail Setup - Outlook window).
  • Open Microsoft Outlook 2016.
